You cannot afford to ignore the cracks in your pavement. Unsealed cracks in asphalt pavement allow water to penetrate the pavement surface. This weakens the base, leading to pavement failures and expensive repairs. Unsealed cracks also allow sand, dirt and other substances to enter the crack. This interferes with the natural expansion and contraction of the pavement resulting in a wide variety of pavement defects.
